Remember a while ago I said I wanted to become a philanthropist - well, until I make my million, I've decided to be an animal rights activist instead. I am shocked to see that there are so many of my species in dire need. This horror story out of Montreal, unfortunately, seems to be the very tip of the iceberg. Because I am a fox terrier, for now I think I will focus on helping my breed, otherwise I might just go nuts with despair!
Speaking of despair, another email rolled into my inbox today about 5 WFTs recently rescued from a Missouri puppy mill. The 5 include 3 females - each of which are missing a leg, a male missing part of his upper lip, and another female in fair shape. Those special human beings, the Fox Terrier Rescue volunteers are trying to do everything they can to help these poor souls. I decided to post a few pictures of the dogs eventhough they are very disturbing and will probably make you cry. I think its important to see them to realize the tremendous medical help these dogs need:
If you can help, no amount of money is too little, please send your donation to:
Fox Terrier Rescue

AFTR Treasurer
430 East Grant Street
Appleton, WI 54911
Please state that the money is for the care of the Midwest Puppy Mill dogs, and Lee will send you a receipt for your donation. Thank you!
My dear readers, please remember to tell your friends not to support pet stores that sell puppies as these puppies come from puppy mills like this one in Missouri.
I dont always want to be the harbiger of sad news, so let's shift focus now to funnier, happier matters! To get us all in the mood - I know, it's hard to cheer up after seeing those awful photos...but look at this photo sent to me by my Golden Retriever friend Noonie in Israel:
Heh heh! Just look at that loser dog giving up his bed to a cat no less! I don't mean to be rude, but who do you reckon is the pussy in this picture? (Disgrace to embarrass our species like that Dog!).I received an anxious letter from Crystal, asking me whether I think Santa will forgive her for her mischievious terrier shananigans over the last year...in other words, do I think she'll still get holiday gifts if she's been a bad girl?
Well Crystal...you do recall that I am a Jewish dog - so I don't really believe in that hairy old man in the red suit...but that aside...one look at this beautiful photo of you, and I'm pretty sure Santa will let bygones be bygones. My guess is you'll find a stocking full of toys and tasty treats. We are who we are...our mischief is in our genes and there is not a darn thing we can do about it! So never apologize for it...our naughty, playful natures are what make us lovable and unique! Now go wreak some havoc!
Ho! Ho! Ho!

It's a White, White World
(I have purposefully omitted to relate my bad behaviour this morning when I ran across a road to greet my other pal Corona almost colliding with an oncoming car and giving Mom a heart attack...Sorry Mom, that white stuff just made me silly. Didn't I read somewhere that sniffing too much white stuff also makes some humans crazy and irresponsible? So, it's not really my fault, is it?)
Hey remember I introduced you Sparky the pup who was looking for a home? Well today I read about another terrier who has the nickname Sparky after biting through an electrical cable and surviving a 240 volt shock. WHOA! "Millie, a Patterdale Terrier, was thrown across the room and left with a hole in the roof of her blackened mouth after she bit through a fridge freezer cable." Silly Millie. Even I am not that stupid and with all Dad's electronic gadgets around, I have ample choice of electric wires to munch on...
I have new pals to introduce, the siblings Archie and Agatha, who live in Boston and love all the snow too. Agatha is the pup with the little dot on her forehead like an Indian princess. Their Mom's name is Diana and the brother and sister are giving her a few challenges with their sibling rivalry. I'm an only dog, so don't ask me what to do about it! I did like what Diana had to say about my blog - and I quote, "It's a Fox Terrier paradise."
I am still getting regular updates on the Wire rescue situation in Montreal. Wow, there are good people up there caring for those poor dogs. Nicole is one of them, and she was nice enough to send me some photographs of the dogs at the SPCA desperately hoping to find foster families. You can see the 11 photos in my online album, just click here.
Thankfully, all the older dogs have found foster homes so they can live out their remaining years in peace and love. But there are still about 25 dogs between 4 and 6 years old who need to find their foster families. In the meantime, all the kind and generous dog loving folks who Mom keeps in touch with are organizing to send the dogs cheery holiday gifts to brighten up their crates and provide them with some stimulation.
Plus, check out the cool Wiry Tshirt Mom bid on and won on Ebay yesterday! All money from this auction was donated to the Wires in Montreal. How cool is that! I can't wait for the shirt to arrive, then Mom and I will take a photo of me posing with her wearing it! And congrats too to Joan who bid on a cute Wire Terrier poncho! Big wiry hugs to Teresa for organizing this wonderful auction! $300 was raised from this fundraising effort!
In addition to the sad situation in Montreal, I just got another upsetting email from Mackie's Mom Melissa who asked me to post that a sweet 10 year old wire, who recently lost her elderly owner, is homeless in Charlotte, NC. If a foster home is not found for her, she will have to go to the pound on Friday! Is there anyone down there who could take in this dear bitch?
On a brighter note - my dog training was cancelled last night because of the snow! Yippee - dog training is tough, but I did miss the post training McDonald's fries!

Snow and the Tree Conundrum
I woke up yesterday morning unaware that my dream had come true! I stepped outside for my early morning pee, and as I stepped on the cobblestones, I heard a loud CRUNCH! Boy, I jumped in fright! I then looked all around me, and would you believe, the whole yard was coated in that white stuff, SNOW! First I tasted it - it was refreshing and cold. Then I ran around and jumped in it. It wasn't as soft as I thought it would be and it was brrrrr cold!
Mom was so excited to see me play in the snow, she very uncharacteristically did NOT get back into bed, but instead took me out to the park. I met up with my good friends Oren, the Shephard mix; and Saag the big black poodle. We ran around off leash, chased eachother and had a blast! Here are photos of the three of us. Look how I'm grinning in both the photos!
Below are me and Saag hanging out and investigating an ominous looking box (alas, nothing tasty in there to eat):
And now for the action shots of me and Oren going wild. He plays quite rough, but I can handle it!
I heard on the TV last night that more snow is going to fall later today - 3-6 inches. That sounds like me and my pals are in for more fun tomorrow in the park!
Yesterday afternoon, Mom (boy she was energetic yesterday!) also took me to a new park called the Wissihicken Creek with her friend Jessica. I got to see these huge dogs called Horses for the first time, and....I got to eat their poop! I don't know why Mom and Jessica shrieked when I did so, I thought it was rather a tasty treat! Nice of them to leave me treats along the trail, don't you think?
Speaking of weird new species, I went to grandma and grandpa on Saturday afternoon. I was standing on their couch (I always make myself at home) looking into this odd glass box, when I noticed this funny looking thing lift his head and move! Of course I started to bark loudly to warn everyone that there was an intruder in the living room! Dad said, "Oh Axel, that's Mr. Turtle" by way of some explanation...Mr Turtle? I don't care what its name is, what is it doing in my livingroom?
After this exciting encounter, I needed to take a leak. I noticed a small tree in the dining room and lifted my leg like I'd been taught to do when in the presence of a tree. Well, blow me away, Grandpa seemed upset! He yelled at me! I was totally confused.
I since wrote to a few of my pals, and it seems oddly enough, that trees INSIDE the house are not to be peed on! Geez, humans really expect a lot from us mere canines. As my friend Gus the Smoothie wrote, "Humans are real funny. They have this wierd idea that we're supposed to know the difference between an inside tree and an outside tree." Or as Woody the Wire put it, "Humans are strange. They bring in the "outside," and then we are to pretend they are not "inside.""
So in the interests of all us very confused dogs, I have created a little quiz for us. Look at the four trees below, and guess which ones we CAN pee on, and which ones we CAN'T pee on! I know it's hard, but it's a good learning tool for us all. It gets especially confusing this time of year for my pals who celebrate Xmas, 'cos humans bring a tall tree into the house full of enticing decorations! But surprise surprise, we're expected not only to NOT pee on it, but also to ignore the glitzy decorations!
THE TREE PEE QUIZ
Ok, I trust you all tried your best. Here are the answers:
An indoor Xmas tree is NOT to be peed on.
An outdoor Xmas tree - can be peed on (but it may not be a popular decision!)
An indoor tree/plant is NOT to be peed on.
An outdoor tree/plant can be peed on.
I hope that clears up this confusing matter!
A further update on the Blainsvile Wires: I got this lovely letter from Honey Bee's Mom Elisabeth - you will recall that Honey Bee is a foster too:
"We visited 3 of the other Blainville dogs today, they were too old (12-13 yrs) and sick to be adopted out so they were sent from the SPCA directly to our local animal hospital and are now being fostered by a friend and neighbour of mine, Kathy. The vet thought they might not survive last weekend, but with Kathy and her young foster son's nurturing, they are improving and enjoying some happy, comfortable days. They are Lambie, Chicklet and Sweetpea. One has multiple tumours, the others have varying degrees of infections, kidney, liver problems etc. They are sad evidence of the terrible neglect these dogs have suffered. With all that, they still have the sweetest dispositions, just like Honey Bee."
Kathy, all my blog readers salute you! Thank you for your loving heart!More good news. Meet Mireille (WFT, right) and her new family which includes a 4 year old lab sister. Mireille is about 6 years old and a real sweetheart she requires medication for bad ear infections and antibiotic creams for her skin rash. Her new family live across the street from a large park and hope to have her running and playing before long. They plan on providing her with all the love she needs to get her back in good health.
Way to go people! Doesn't Mireille look like a sweetie?
Many of my pals and I are hoping to send some holiday gifts to these special wires to bring them some festive cheer!
Well, I'm going to go sit by the window now and wait for the white stuff to fall!

Revenge of the Squirrels!
Friends. I have very disturbing news to share with you today. I read it over breakfast, and my kibble went down the wrong way and I had a coughing fit! Yes. It's that scary. My wiry pals, our squirrel hunting days may be over. Those furry little rodents are taking revenge! Read this:
Squirrels Kill and Eat DogLocal media in Russia have reported how a gang of aggressive squirrels have bitten to death a stray dog which was barking at them in a park. Witnesses to the attack told of how the squirrels ran off with lumps of flesh when humans approached.
The attack was witnessed by three local people in the parkland in the centre of Lazo, a village in the Maritime Territory. One of the witnesses said: "They literally gutted the dog,"
A scientist in the region asserted, "the little beasts are agitated because they have nothing to eat".
I am not given to using expletives, but holy shit! What if this is the beginning of some global clandestine underground squirrel movement intent on taking revenge against us for barking and chasing them!? What are we to do friends? Surely we can't be expected to give up on our favorite sport? This is very upsetting...
And you know what else gets my goat? The media has been saturated with the story of the French woman receiving a face transplant. Every report I've read describes her as the victim of a "savage dog attack." But here is the truth my canine friends:
The French woman who received the world's first partial face transplant this week was disfigured when her dog tried to wake her during a suicide attempt, her daughter said." She had taken pills, she was unconscious. When the dog realised that, it tried to wake her," the 17-year-old said. "After that we don't know what happened with the dog, whether it bit or clawed her, but it managed to pull her awake. In a way, it was lucky for her that the dog was there," she said.
So here we have the classic story of caring dog receiving a bad wrap. He saved her life! It's unfortunate that he disfigured her in so doing - but he was only trying to wake her up! In my book, that's a very good dog! And what was his reward? Death my friends, death! Grrrr!
Okay, onto happier things. Our friend Ares in Virginia (introduced on the blog on Nov. 21) now has two new wiry sisters, Phoebe and Daphne! His mom Kelli writes that, "Ares thinks the girls are a ton of fun." Big bro Zeus the Airdale is enjoying some peace and quiet! Man they are cute little girls - just look at them!
And still on the subject of cute baby wires, here is the latest installation of "Take Me Home!"
Sparky is 10 weeks old. He was rejected by a pet store due to a hernia which is easily repaired when neutered. He is sweet, quiet and playful. If you want to take Sparky home, please call his foster mom for more information 740-472-9828. Aww, he is sooo cute!
Woohoo, it's the weekend again! Have a good one everyone!

Help En Route to Montreal
Thankfully I figured out what was wrong with my blog, so now it looks good again! Phew!
I have to tell you that there are many wonderful humans in this world. I heard from Montreal that money has started coming in for the abused Wires of Blainville, and it is thanks to the efforts of many people who have been posting info on Craigslist, forums etc. We even heard from Petsmart Charities - they too are offering to help. My tail is in a constant wag to think that help is on its way to Canada!
More happy news from Montreal is that another Wire left today with a little red collar, lead and coat and her big Labrador sister. The Wire has two non-malignant mammary tumors and other health issues, but the people have already fallen in love with her.
Another Wire who was is being fostered by a family who live in a condo started barking and the condo neighbors complained. The man, who is now completely enamored with her, sent letters to each neighbor explaining what the dog had gone through and that he expected their patience! He then called a meeting to explain further. He now has someone “babysitting” his little girl four hours a day and a dog walker coming in twice before he gets home. His little Wire sleeps in his bed, has grooming appointments and regular vet visits to take care of her medical issues.
How fabulous is that?
Money is still needed to care for the rescued Wires, so please give what you can. You can donate online by clicking here and scrolling to the bottom of the page. Thank you on behalf of all Wires.Well I've been so busy trying to help my Canadian brothers and sisters, I haven't had time for much else. Today my new dogwalker Andrea is coming to take me out. I am so happy, I get awfully lonesome being at home all day. True, I do love my couch and have endless fun burying my toys in the cushions and then looking for them! I also love sitting in the window and barking at anything that dares come near my house!
But I do love the outdoors, so a midday stroll will be awesome!
Rumor has it that snow may fall on the weekend, but I'm not that gullible...I'll believe it when I see it! I'm not getting all excited again for nothing!
Speaking of burying stuff, look at my English gal pal Tilly after she was done burying her bone. Note that she got to play in some snow, lucky bitch! (I love that I can call her that without being offensive, haha!)
And I have two new pals to introduce. They belong to a very special lady Nicole who lives in Montreal and has been visiting the abused Wires every day, playing with them, giving them love and helping the SPCA care for them. Way to go Nicole! Nicole has two babies, Kala and Kapucine. Beautiful!
Finally, remember I told you that the cloning of that poor Afgan hound Snuppy in Korea was awarded the Time Mag's "2004 Invention of the Year." Well, guess what? The scientist Hwang Woo Sukwho who developed the clone stepped down as head of the World Stem Cell Hub in Seoul because of his less than Kosher ethics! I love it, justice for Snuppy!

Humankind: The Good, the Bad and the Stupid
So last night I started obedience class! On the way there, I got carsick and vomited all over Dad's car - the gears no less. Poor Mom spent a good 15 minutes trying to get the guck off the gears and the car in general! Anyway, we got to school early and I got to watch the advanced class of mainly rottweilers and golden retrievers. Boy it was impressive - they listen to their owners! Imagine that?
There were some cool dogs in my class. I met an Italian Spinone for the first time - her name was Stella, she was cute. Then there was a black Great Dane pup who was huge, a German Shephard, Westie, Spaniel, Black Lab, Corgi and a Sheltie. We were all between 6 months and 2 years old, and none of us was very obedient! The trainer Wendy was really nice but she kept harping on about terriers not being that easy to train. I'll show her! We learnt to heal, sit and stay. Dad said I did well and as a treat, we went to the McDonald's drive thru after class and I got to eat lots of crispy hot french fries!
This morning I received great emails that made my tail wag like crazy. The emails contained wonderful news concerning the fostering of the poor, abused dog survivors of a Montreal puppy mill. I read about the deplorable mill a while ago, but I was so upset and disturbed, I didn't write about it. But now that there are some happy endings, I want to tell you all about it. The SPCA in Canada reported:More than 100 Fox Terrier dogs were living in horrific conditions in a Blainville home. The inside of this home was filled with an overwhelming stench, resulting from an elixir of excrement and decomposing dog carcasses. All 101 Fox Terriers' coats were very long, full of knots and fully covered in excrement. These little dogs resembled something straight out of a horror film. There were corpses of deceased dogs in different stages of decomposition within a sea of filth, as the living dogs ate their remains. (That's one of the wires pictured left. God it makes me want to cry...)
The report goes on to detail the horrid situation in Blainville, but I don't want to upset myself or my readers, so let's get to the happier stuff now.
The SPCA was able to take charge of 35 of the dogs immediately. SPCA veterinarians, employees and volunteers tirelessly examined, treated, cleaned and cared for these poor animals (Click here for pictures). And now I can report the joyful news that some of these wires have found loving, foster homes with big hearted humans. They cannot be adopted until the legal case has run it's course.
Elisabeth is fostering Honey Bee McGarrigle, a 7 year-old bitch who gets her name from her sweet disposition. She sure looks like a sweetie pie, and how cosy and content she looks in her new home.
Another wonderful human, William wrote to tell me that, "I am fostering one of the fox terriers found in the Blainville rescue. He is two years old and a real sweetheart. Obviously I have alot of work to do with him but already in a matter of a few days he has improved dramatically. They are such intelligent dogs, I know it is only a matter of time before he is fully integrated into a normal existance."
You got that right William, we are smart! I hope your wire will get over his terrible trauma and live out his life happily in your family!
Another wire boy who doesn't have a name yet is also being fostered by a loving family, and he now has a new big sister, a standard poodle that thinks he is just great so much so she is sharing her bed with him. Look at the happy siblings!
Another very special human being named Elizabeth P also wrote to tell me that, "We have been successful in placing a total of 18 Wires (from Blainville). I have personally met with each and everyone of the foster families and I can assure you that they have gone to wonderful homes with loving caretakers."
I'm sure I speak on behalf of all wires the world over, and all dogs in our universe when I say THANK YOU to all these wonderful people who have expended so much time and effort to help these beautiful abused canine souls. And it is my fervent wish that the people responsible for such criminal abuse and neglect get the punishment they deserve! Amen!
Anyone wanting to help the rescued wires - please send your donations to:

**Be sure to stipulate that the donation is for the recued Wire Foxes. Finally, I have showcased the good and bad sides of humanity, and now for the silly! And I mean really silly to the point of ridiculousness!"
A dog in Japan with a new dye job pushes the 'mixed-breed' trend in the canine world to the limit. The poodle-Maltese cross was named "Columbo" by its owner features a black-and-white dye job fashioned after a panda bear.Columbo, who is naturally white, was dyed using a special hair dye for dogs that lasts about a month."
Someone in Japan has clearly lost his/her marbles -- big time! I mean look at this poor animal! What next in the anals of human stupidity?

Sisters, Strippings and School
So I have a difficult ethical question. How bad is incest really? You see, I met my sister Early yesterday, and I think I might be in love with her! She is very petite and cute, and boy did we have fun together.
Here's a pic of me and Early on the grooming table. What do you think of her name? I think it's sort of silly - Early On? LOL, pretty funny.
I think we're very good looking siblings! Uncle Bob our breeder said I could have been a champion show dog if it wasn't for my curly tail! I'm quite relieved, I don't get kicks parading around a showring - I prefer to run and play with my pals!
Bob the breeder had a lot of fun pulling my hair out! I'm not sure why he insists on doing it - maybe he is cold in that big house of his and needed my hair to stuff his comforter? Who knows? At the end of being stripped, I felt a big chilly - but I do admit, I looked like a very handsome dude!
I was also very excited to meet some new little cousins. Five puppies! They were 12 weeks old and so very small. Mom kept on oohing and ahing and saying, "do you remember when Axel was that tiny?" It was embarracing the way she was carrying on. Anyway, in her defense, I went through my old photo albums and found one of my baby pictures. Wow, I was that small once too! That's me pictured right!
Mom spent Friday and Saturday in New York with her friends Liora and Al. I don't mind admitting I was pissed. Very pissed. First off - it didn't snow as promised. Second off - I was not taken along to Thanksgiving dinner because they feared I would attack the food and jump on the silly Yorkie puppy Rocky. And then, to top all that off, Mom up and leaves me for 48 hours! Don't get me wrong, I love my Dad, but he's been working his butt off - he was away all day Friday and Saturday, so I was oh so lonesome. I decided to pretend I wasn't even happy to see Mom when we picked her up from the train station. I ignored her totally. I know, I was mean, but she had to know that it wasn't okay to leave me for so long! She was pretty disappointed...she told Dad she had so looked forward to a reunion full of licks! After about an hour, I gave up my pretension and showed her how happy I was that she was home - I tried to unpack her bag for her. Needless to say, she wasn't very appreciative.
Tonite I start obedience school at the Suburban Dog Training Club. I hope it will be more fun than being hand stripped! I read on the website that they are going to try to teach us to heel, stay, sit, down and come. Haha, good luck trainers! Bet they've never trained a wire before! I intend to give them a run for their money!

Counting Our Blessings
Woohoo, looks like I'll finally get to see the white stuff tomorrow! My pal Pippin in Albany, NY already emailed me to say it's falling in her back yard, and is on its way to me! Check out today's weather forecast from NBC:
Dad keeps telling me how much he hates the snow and wishes he lived in California. Mom doesn't dig it either coming from the warm climes of Africa and all. But phooey on them, I just know I'm going to love it!
My pal Banba sent me another pic of her in the snow...I must say I had to strain my eyes to find her in amongst all the white stuff! She looks like she has been temporarily exiled to Siberia or the Arctic circle! I get shivery just looking at her and all that snow!
You know I keep wanting to refer to Banba as Bamba because Mom always tells me about this awesome Israeli peanut butter snack called Bamba (it looks a bit like the American Cheetos). It is the best-selling snack and the strongest children’s brand name in Israel. Below is a picture of it...I know most of us can't read Hebrew, but take my word for it, it says Bamba on the front. Maybe my wiry pal Maccabee in Israel could mail me a packet!?
Well, it looks like I will be going along to the big Thanksgiving feast tomorrow night because my Dad's cousins just got a Yorkshire Terrier puppy and they are bringing it along! Personally, I think Yorkies are nerve endings with hair - but whatever, maybe he'll be fun to push around! Heh heh. So anyway...I leave you now with this very silly Thanksgiving picture I found online...so silly it made me laugh and bark at the same time!
HAPPY THANKSGIVING EVERYONE!
Let us all count our blessings and appreciate every minute of health and happiness in our lives!

Excitement Comes in Threes!!!
1. Thursday is ThanksGiving and I hear that this is the day on which Americans kill and eat lots of turkeys! As I told you yesterday, I had my first taste of turkey when I managed to grab Mom's hoagie off the kitchen counter. And it was yummy! So the thought of getting more of this tasty bird is very exciting indeed. I heard Mom mumble something about "at least turkey might make him sleepy.." - something about a funny word sounding like "L-tryptophan". Why Mom would want me to be sleepy I don't know...I thought she enjoyed my exuberance! Hmmph!
2. I was watching the 11 PM news last night, and meteorologist (a silly grand human name for weatherman) Hurricane Schwartz (what an odd name for a nice Jewish boy!) said we may get snow on Thursday! I keep hearing what fun snow is, that it's fun to eat and play in, and I can't wait to see it! I got some awesome photos from my pal Banba from last winter. Check her out in the snow, all decked out in coat and snow shoes mowing through the drifts! Man, that looks like such fun!!!
My NY pal Jeeves by contrast, doesn't look like he's having too much fun being dressed up in his Mom Amy's teddybear jersey! Just look at the pain and humilation in those eyes. Honestly Amy, what were you thinking?! Jeeves is a humble canine, not a stuffed toy! Right buddy?
3. Wait for this...on Sunday, I'm going to have a reunion with my biological Mom and Dad and my sister! We're going to my breeder's house where I was born! Bob the breeder said he can't wait to see me and how I turned out! Bet he'll be impressed, I'm one good looking dude. Of course, the real reason we're going alas, is for Mom and Dad (human) to have a hand stripping lesson. Yuck! Not looking so forward to that part!
I have a new pal to introduce to everyone. His name is Otto, but his full name cracks me up - it's Grand Theft Otto! To look at his face you'd never think him a thief or anything, he looks positively angelic and sweet. When Mom saw the picture, I swear I saw her melt like a Dairy Queen ice cream on a humid day! Got a stab of jealousy! Little Otto is four months old and lives with his Mom Michaela in Phoenix, Arizona. Poor Otto, guess he won't be seeing any of the white stuff!! Cactii more likely.
Mom told me she is going to visit her old South African buddy in New York after Thankgiving for the weekend, and she's not taking me with! Bugger! She also told me she's shutting down the computer on Wednesday, so I guess no blogging for me until Sunday! Double bugger!
AGC
PS A note of sad news. The dog who holds the Ugly Dog title passed away yesterday...I featured him on my blog a while back. Poor Sam is was one hideous creature, but he was someone's best and loyal friend. Rest in peace Sammy!

How Much is that Doggie in the Window? (and yes, I do have a curly tail, don't rub it in!)
I bet many of you wonder what I do all day while Mom and Dad are at work...Well, here is a pictorial answer for you. I sit in our front window, on my couch perch and protect our house from any passers-by. I also sit and wait for Mom or Dad to show up, and when I see them out the window, I go ballistic!!!
By the way, if you are wondering what is in my mouth...no, I am not becoming one of those native Africans that stretch their lips with tribal jewelery! That is one of the treats I got from Dad yesterday after they came home from the Philadelphia Dog Show. I don't know what it is...I need to walk around with it for a while in my mouth, and then bury it in the sofa for a while, before I'm ready to eat it. That way I savor the experience. Mom and Dad told me there was only ONE wire and ONE smoothy at the show! They are pretty cute though. I could smell them on Mom when she got home...hope she wasn't hugging them too much!
There were (apparently) many other sorts of dogs at the show, you can see a few of them by clicking here.
Well, I have two new friends to introduce you to today, Smitty and Ares. And they both happen to be modeling the latest in winter canine wear! Ares lives with his Mom Kelli in Virginia. Ares has a big brother Airdale Zeuss whom he gives a hard time by pulling his beard then running around back and biting his behind. OW! His Mom writes that, "Ares is game for anything you might want to do EXCEPT riding in the car. He would rather die than get in that thing." Are you nuts Ares, I love the car?! Try sticking your head out the window, it's such an awesome rush!!
Smitty, pictured below in a fleece jogging suit no less, lives with his Mom Joanne in Albany, NY where I think it gets pretty cold. Man, I dig that jogging outfit. I gotta get myself one. Boy would all the bitches flock to me then! Bet Miss Amelia would be on the first plane from Washington State to come see me if I sported one of those! Hey Mom, isn't Chanukah coming up soon...need any gift ideas!? You just got one!Remember a while ago I started a new blog segment called, "Take Me Home!" - wherein I highlighted foxies like myself, who needed forever homes? Well, I have two sweet foxies, one smooth and one wiry, to tell you about.
First there is Sally (right), a 9 year old, wiry, spayed female. She was found in an animal shelter and brought to Fox Terrier Rescue. Sally is the sweetest little girl. She is non-agressive with other dogs. And then there is Jacki (left), the Smooth Fox Terrier, who is only a year old and spayed. She seems fine with other dogs, cats and kids, but she hates being crated or left alone.
If you can offer these fine gals a forever home, or know someone who can, please go to Petfinder.com, and select Southern California - that is where these foxies are waiting for you.
Finally, on a merry note...I did a devilish deed this morning. Mom was making her lunch for work, a big turkey hoagie! It smelled so good, when she wasn't looking, I jumped up against the counter and managed to grab it and run to the living room! Heh heh! Boy was she mad at me...she managed to catch me and take away that tantalizing meal. I saw her put it in the trash, and all I got for breakfast was the usual Solid Gold biscuits and Pedigree ground beef! Why can't Mom understand that I was simply getting into the Thanksgiving turkey mood!?
