I'm so ITCHY I could scream!!

Those unbearable itchies are BACK and I can't stand it. All day long I'm forced to scratch, scratch, scratch or bite my paws. Mom and Dad are very sympathetic...they are giving me Benedryl disguised in all sorts of yummy stuff like cream cheese and peanut butter...but I think the pills make me feel goofy, tired like.

Today at a friend's suggestion Mom bought a shampoo called Nizoral - it's an anti-dandruff shampoo for humans, but this friend swears it helped her dogs' itchy paws. So I hear my humans are going to bathe my paws in it tomorrow. I'm so uncomfy and my paws are red - so I'm willing to go along with it. They may also double my Benedryl dosage...great, I'll be a stoner all day instead of just half the day!

But it would go down better if it too would be accompanied by cream cheese or peanut butter. Hint hint!

Hope the shampoo helps. I do still have lots of baby socks from last summer when I was itchy. Some have baseballs on them, some are just plain. We recommend Target or Wal Mart, cause muzzer says they are toast after a couple of wearings anywya.

Poor Axel, I hope you get over the itchies soon. I know they can make a dog feel miserable. The allergy season is especially bad this year, too.

Hi Axel, just happened onto your page as I typed in "fox terrier stuff" and in a round about way got you. Seems these itchies are even in Australia, we use "Lucas Paw Paw" ointment to relieve the red itchy skin. It is made from fermented Papayate, Its used by humans for dermatitis and nappy rash. Also use low ph or oatmeal
shampoos. Love your beach photos.Hugs from Wires in Oz

Thanks for all the sympathy friends, much appreciated.
Shout out (boy, that was some shout, I'm hoarse now) to Di in Oz - so glad you found my blog and thanks for the Paw Paw ointment suggestion, I'll look for some online...funny name that - in South Africa where mom is from, they also have paw-paw fruit, but in America noone uses that word...it's papaya I guess.
It makes sense though in this context to call it Paw Paw as a remedy for itchy doggie paws!
Please come and visit often. Do you have a wire too?
