As you all know, because I keep telling you, I do not like to wear clothes or costumes. I like to go kaalgat as we say in South African language Afrikaans which means, basically, naked. I don't know why humans think we need winter coats when it turns cold out...what do you think our fur is for people??? Thousands of years ago before we were domesticated, do you think the cavemen would knit us coats? Oh please!
But no, humans think just because they need loads of layers to keep out the freezing temps, so do we. Well, listen up. We do not. At least I do not.Unfortunately, I cannot speak - so when Mom triumphantly came home with a box and said it was for me, and produced a bright orange and silver dog coat - I thought, oh crikey, not a frigging coat again. I had been so happy to see her mail Gus my winter coat from last year - I thought that was it for me and coats. Mom had finally understood my body language...but no such luck.
I didn't even try to feign happiness when she called me over to put it on. I just stood there and let her. So here I am, in all my glory...in my new Landsend coat, or squall as they call it (it is waterproof on the outside and lined with flannel):
What do you think? The only positive thing I will say, is that it is less restrictive then my last coat which ran all the way to my pee-pee and I didn't like that cos it made me nervy to pee in it!
We didn't make it to Gracie this weekend, but we will be going this coming weekend. I can't wait. Hopefully I can leave the coat at home...but Mother keeps yakking to me how cold it is in Massachewsits and yadda yadda, you need your coat!!

Yo Axel...and you KNOW you were glad to have that coat on today at the PSU/Temple game. Thanks so much for meeting Lacie, Koob, Asta Marie, Dewey and me there. Um, I tried to warn you bout the pregame pawty, but you are a stubborn guy, Ax. Standing on your hind legs and swingin' that coat around was quite a site in the parking lot. We loved the cheesesteaks they sold at the game. I loved the onions and peppers, but I did pick the onions off as they are bad for doggies.
We really hope you got home ok...Asta Marie was smoochin you pretty good as you pushed her outta the cab. She's a rich dog, Ax. Don't be so hasty to be rid of her!
Greetings to your Mumsie. Tell her Land's Ends jackets wash really well, and most of the ketchup you spilled should come out. I'm not sure about the beer stains. Or the cigar burns.

Oh Axel.. And that was such a nice squall jacket! We think you look quite handsome. How about some ear muffs?
Poor Axel, I hate wearing coats and shirts or costume.... The only coat I have to wear is a fluorescent one against the hunters...4 weeks a year.....
Kisses, Faya
Hey, Axel!
You look pretty smart in your new LandsEnd coat! Do you like it?
Goober love,
Stanley
Hi Axel. I understand what you mean. But, I just give in rather quickly to it all. I get more treats that way.
Hey Ax, I think you look pretty stylin' in your new coat! And it's red too, my favourite colour. J x
I almost got that coat too. I think you look very handsome. I bet someone will be getting me a coat soon too. See you soon.

Ax,You look like Mr Handsome!! Your Mom is right it is getting a bit chilly up here in Massachewsitts. In fact PL2 made Agatha put on her styilsh new coat last night( I am going to wait a little bit more...macho thing you know...) We think you look awesome!! Love A+A
Very stylish, Axel, though I'm with you on the clothing. Too restrictive, and we like to bounce!
William Tell
Oh Axel,
You do not look happy. I don't blame you. I hate clothes, too.
Scruffy sent me a Penn State T-shirt for my birthday last month and you can see on my blog just how much I like it, although it was very thoughtful of him.
Good luck with your clothing.
Love and Koobuss Kisses,
Koobie
Hey Ax!
I think I was made to wear my coat from such a young age that I actually like it. Mommy said to tell you I have refused to go outside since it's gotten cold out---that is---unless I have my coat on! My bday is March so I haven't experienced the winter yet!
Usually you get more treats when you do what the mommy says...
PS - daddy wants to talk to your parents about Africa. He's recently decided he would like to visit there at some point so mommy says he should talk to your mom about that. He will e-mail you whenever he gets his questions together. Mommy says she's firmly planted here and can't leave us so she said he should go with you! hehe!
Poker Friday nite, Axel...yes, Girls are allowed...not welcome, but allowed...
bring beer.
/Scruffy
