Oh no, Bath time?

The vet gave Mom and Dad special anti-itching shampoo, so they decided to test it out on me today, their helpless guineapig! The minute I heard the bath running in mid afternoon, I just knew what it meant, so I stayed downstairs. But then Dad started making all these eating noises and repeating my favorite words, "snack" and "treat" and gourmand that I am, I fell for it, and went up to investigate.

Once they had me in the bathroom, I still thought I could prevent them from catching me. So I crawled between the tub and the inner wall...

But my luck ran out! Dad managed to drag me out, and the rest is history. Bath. Shampoo. Not much fun, even for me, a dog who usually LOVES water. But as I tried to explain when I was hunkered down behind the tub, bathing and swimming are two different things!!!

When it was all over, I was hoisted out looking like a wet (thinner) rat. Oh I am ashamed to show you this photo. I look like a candidate for the Ugly Dog Contest!

After shaking in the shower, running about and rolling on towels, I jumped on the bed and relaxed while Mom blow dryed me. Ah, I do like that warm machine.

I heard Mom tell Dad that I was in for another bath on Thursday, the night before I go on vacation to Ricky Pepper's house!! I'm sure Ricky Pepper wouldn't care one way or the other if I smelt like roses or poopie! Grrr, parents...I'm looking forward to 2.5 weeks of peace away from them!!! heh heh.

Oh Axel...you are so much like Scruffy. He won't even get in a tub...the dirty water ends up on the ceiling. I shower every morning with Mumsie...I sit on her feet! Scruff gets tossed in occasionally and he cowers against the shower door,
shaking. Am assuming when he comes out of the toad, he may need to go in the washing machine. Yick. Lackie licks to you Axel, boy and hope all of this torture helps your complexion. Lacie!

Good hiding place, Axel. Nice try. Two baths in one week is cruel and unusual punishment, if you ask me. I hope all this bathing is helping you to feel better. If not, at least you smell good, according to humans. I myself prefer good strong doggie odor.

Keep your chin up, Ax!

Lots of Koobus Kisses,
Koobie

Hi Axel!

Don't worry about your baths - my sisters and I will have you stinkin' again in NO time. We roll in bird poop if we can find it...I am sure there will be some for you to investigate when you come to stay with us for your vacation!
I heard mom saying something about snip snip and then I heard VET in there somewhere, and then September 14th, and then daddy said "numnuts". What ever do you think that might mean? I'm pondering this VET trip!

xoxo,
Ricky

Hey Axel, Sorry to hear about your bad itchies (I'm just catching up on my blog reading). I have the same problems every summer and I actually have to take shots for it, and 2 baths a week! I will keep my paws crossed that your Temaril works for you! Feel better!!
